Supply-Chain Leaders to Discuss SCM Issues with Fortune 500 Leaders

8:12 am   -   November 20th, 2006

WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ — The Supply-Chain Council (SCC) has
added more speakers to its roster of high-level executives and supply-chain
experts who will attend the 2007 Supply-Chain Executive Retreat,
Globalization: Getting It Right!, to be held at the Boca Raton Resort &
Club, in Boca Raton, Fla., from Jan. 22-24, 2007. The event focuses on the
evolution of supply chain practices to effectively penetrate global
markets, build global organizations and drive global supply.
Fareed Zakaria, editor of Newsweek International and a regular analyst
for ABC News, will be the keynote speaker at the annual retreat. He will
discuss how countries such as China and India are finding successful ways
to marry economics and technology with their own politics, culture and
history. At the event, a Q&A session will be facilitated by Pat Byrne,
global managing partner of Strategy and Business Architecture for
Accenture, which is the primary sponsor of the event. It will help
attendees to gain insight on how these factors will shape future global
supply chains.
Since global organizational design hinges on building the right
performance metrics and strategic relationships, the program includes
several esteemed keynote speakers such as Robert S. Kaplan, Baker
Foundation Professor, Harvard Business School, and an author of The
Balanced Scorecard: Translating Strategy to Action; and Gene Slowinski,
Director of Strategic Alliance Research, Graduate School of Management,
Rutgers University, Managing Partner, Alliance Management Group, and the
author of Reinventing Corporate Growth.
The program’s foundation are case studies from leading business
executives on globalization including Steven Gold, Vice President of
PepsiCo, who will talk on “Global Supply for Global Markets;” Nick
Lahowchic, President and CEO of The Limited, will discuss “Managing Network
Relationships in The Global Fashion Supply Chain;” and Patrice Knight,
Senior Vice President, Procurement, for IBM will tackle “Redefining the
Organization for Global Supply.”
The retreat has become an integral offering from SCC that brings
together senior executives and influential thinkers to discuss strategic
trends and world events affecting all aspects of supply-chain management.
The primary sponsor for the event is Accenture.
